appearing on The HighWire

October 8, 2026

Coming here ahead of the conversation? Welcome.

I’m Zachary Owen Heidemann.
My work has moved through technology, herbalism, entrepreneurship, coaching, community and organizational strategy.
A question keeps connecting those worlds for me:
What are we actually trying to create, and what conditions help it thrive?

Resources for the conversation

This is where I’ll collect resources for the October 8 conversation.
The final selection will follow the interview topic.
In the meantime, here’s a simple reflection you can try.

Start with the goal

Before choosing another tool, pause and ask:

  1. What do I actually want to change?
  2. What would improvement look like in everyday life?
  3. What small change could I try and what would tell me it’s helping?

What brings you here?

You don’t need to explore everything. Start with what fits your life or work now.

Personal Coaching

A place to work through change, strengthen daily practices and turn reflection into practical next steps.

Founder team consulting

Support when communication, unclear ownership or recurring friction is making good work harder than it needs to be.

Wild Child Medicines

The herbal and product side of my work: small-batch preparations rooted in a direct relationship with plants.

The Open Circle

A free space for reflection and connection. I’m considering reopening it this fall; join the list to hear if a gathering is confirmed.

Collaboration and media

Have a thoughtful collaboration, introduction or media inquiry in mind? I’d be glad to hear about it.

Different kinds of work.
A connected way of seeing.

Technology taught me to look at how the parts of a system work together.
Years of gardening, wild-harvesting and herbal practice taught me to notice the conditions around living things.
Building businesses, facilitating groups and working with people brought those perspectives together.

Today, that way of seeing runs through my coaching, consulting and Wild Child Medicines.
I’m interested in helping people clarify what matters, understand what’s getting in the way, and put useful changes into practice.
